Does the course come with a kit?

Regrettably, we do not provide kits with our courses. Our commitment to quality is unwavering, and we believe in empowering you with full control over the products you use. Many courses may include inexpensive, poorly assembled kits to cut costs, but we prioritize your ability to choose high-quality materials. Instead, you will receive a comprehensive list of all necessary products (varying by location) within the course. We include a list for PRO products that can cost more of an investment and we include a Basic list of products with cheaper brands that have good quality products. Moreover, we've secured exclusive discount codes for prominent online supplier stores, allowing you to access premium materials at discounted rates. This way, you can tailor your kit to meet your specific preferences and standards

How much does a brow kit cost?

The cost of a kit can vary. In our courses, we provide both a pro list and a beginner list with product recommendations. We advise beginners to use more affordable products for practice before investing in pricier options. A complete beginner kit may range from £150 to £500, depending on your product choices. To assist you in obtaining products at a more affordable rate, our course includes discount codes. Keep in mind that the skills learned in the course are an investment for a lifetime, and you can gradually build on your kit.

How do I order products?

Our courses do not come with kits, but we provide our students with generous discount codes for purchasing products from reliable brow suppliers. We recommend waiting to buy any products until you have access to your course, so you can use the discount code and save money on a brow kit. Our goal is to make your learning experience as affordable as possible.

What products should I buy before starting the course?

We recommend waiting to purchase any products until you start the course. Once you access the course platform, you'll find several discount codes for products from our partnered suppliers, ensuring you get the best possible deals on your kit.

After logging in, be sure to check out our beginner-friendly and pro-friendly product sheets. These resources will help you select products that fit your budget at discounted rates. Before you start working with any models or clients, it's essential to have a good basic kit, which we will explain further in the course.

How do I shop The Detailist products?

Since our course content is pre-recorded, you may notice some products featured that we no longer sell or use. However, we regularly update our courses to provide you with the latest product recommendations at the beginning of each course. These recommendations include tried-and-true products that we highly endorse, along with discount codes to help you purchase them at a lower price.

As the industry evolves, new and improved products become available, and we want to ensure you have access to the best options. While the specific products used in the video tutorials may change, the techniques and methods of application are what truly matter. You can easily adapt the product recommendations to include your favourite items or explore new options that we suggest.

At this time, we do not stock our retail products due to manufacturer issues, and we prefer not to offer subpar options to our students. Instead, we focus on recommending high-quality products that top brow artists use, ensuring you stay informed and up-to-date with the best in the industry.

Do I receive any materials in the mail or is everything online?

All of our products are digital. Our courses, e-books, manuals, and all other materials are available online, giving you instant access to begin learning right away. You will also have lifetime access to all content, allowing you to revisit the materials whenever you like. We want to ensure you don’t have to worry about manuals getting lost in the mail or delays before you start your course. Once you complete the course, your certificate will be ready for you to download and print immediately—no waiting required. Everything is available instantly for your convenience.

Is there a time limit I need to complete the course by?

No, all of our courses are lifetime access. Once you receive your enrolment details you have full flexibility to complete in your own time at your own pace.

We make sure to keep our courses up to date with all the latest industry information and you'll have access to these changes too.

Is the course fee a one-off lump sum?

Yes, our course fees are transparent with no hidden charges. If you opt to pay through our credit providers, the payment plans will be managed and agreed upon by the credit provider. These payment charges are independent of us and are subject to approval by the credit company.

I am a beginner brow artist that wants to train with you. Can I take this course?

Yes, our course is beginner friendly. If you have just started out we understand that after first receiving any qualification (dependant on your residing country) This course will teach you how to become a PRO brow artist with training designed to kick-start your very successful brow journey.

If you have absolutely no previous experience within the beauty industry we recommend you do your own research within the country you reside and plan to work in, regarding your governments regulations within brow services. Our course is CPD Accredited however this is not a qualification.

Currently in the UK to work from home and/or mobile, you will need to obtain diploma certificates in your specified treatments in order to obtain the necessary insurance. If you are considering gaining employment within the industry in the future, or looking to eventually open your own salon, it is in your interest to achieve a Level 2 qualification within beauty.

This varies between different countries therefore we suggest you do your own research before taking this course to ensure you can receive insurance and abide by local laws.

Yes, we do offer payment plans through Clearpay, Afterpay, or Klarna. Please note that approval for these payment plans is managed directly by the payment providers, and we do not have control over the authorization process. For eligibility and acceptance, you’ll need to check with the respective payment provider.

Do I have to be an aesthetician to provide services? Will I get a certificate?

In the UK, you do not need to be a licensed aesthetician to offer beauty services, but you are typically required to have at least a Level 2 Beauty Diploma. However, requirements can vary significantly depending on the country or state in which you plan to work. For example, in countries like Australia, a diploma is not always necessary to provide brow services, but obtaining insurance is mandatory to offer these services legally.

If you plan to build a career in the beauty industry or open your own salon, we strongly recommend obtaining a Level 2 Beauty qualification to enhance your credentials. Before enrolling in any course, it's important to thoroughly research the specific requirements in your area to ensure that you can obtain the necessary insurance and comply with local regulations.

Can I obtain insurance?

Our full-service courses (Brow Lamination, Tinting and Waxing, BUNDLE COURSE, and Celeb Brow Course) are all CPD accredited. CPD accreditation is widely recognized and accepted in the United Kingdom and throughout Europe. The UK places significant emphasis on professional development, and CPD provides evidence of relevant skills for excelling in your desired role.

If you have no prior experience in the beauty industry, we recommend conducting research on your government's regulations regarding brow services in the country where you reside or plan to work. While our course is CPD Accredited, it does not provide a formal qualification. Currently, in the UK, working from home or mobile requires obtaining diploma certificates for your specified treatments to secure the necessary insurance. If you plan to pursue a career in the industry or open your salon, achieving a Level 2 qualification in beauty is advised.

Regulations vary among different countries, so we recommend thorough research before taking the course to ensure you can obtain insurance and comply with local laws.

What is the course duration?

Our online courses offer the flexibility to be completed at your own pace, with lifetime access to the materials. The total course content is approximately 4 to 8 hours, depending on how quickly you progress through the platform and absorb the information. Please note that you cannot skip ahead; each module must be completed to 100% before you can move on to the next section of the course.

What is the difference between your courses?

We are proud to offer CPD Accredited Online Brow Courses designed for both aspiring and experienced brow artists. Our comprehensive courses are tailored to meet all learning needs, featuring step-by-step video tutorials and detailed written manuals that cover essential aspects of eyebrow services often overlooked.

Why Choose Our Courses?

In-Depth Learning: Our courses provide thorough insights into eyebrow anatomy, including skin, hair, and facial muscles, ensuring you’re well-prepared to deliver flawless transformations for your clients.

Full-Service Tutorials: Gain access to full-service tutorials, not just individual techniques. Chloe demonstrates how to combine these techniques to create comprehensive, high-level brow services, enabling you to charge premium prices.

Technical Support

When I log into the platform it is asking me to pay again

Our courses require a one-time upfront payment with no hidden fees. If you're seeing a payment option when logging into the course platform, it means you're using the wrong email. Check your welcome email for the correct login email. Remember, your course access is linked only to the email you used during purchase. If you're sure you're using the right email but still have issues, there might be a typo in your email from checkout. Contact our customer support team (customer@thedetailist.co.uk), and they’ll help resolve it for you.

When I log into the course I cannot see video tutorials? It won’t let me skip through?

If you've logged into your course platform and clicked "Start Course" but don't see any video tutorials right away, that's because the courses are structured for you to progress through each module sequentially. You'll begin with the written theory before advancing to the video tutorials. Unfortunately you cannot skip ahead.

This approach ensures that you fully understand the concepts behind the techniques, especially since you will receive a certificate upon completion. We understand that this might be confusing, particularly for experienced brow artists, as you cannot skip modules. However, to issue certificates, we require all students to complete every module in full. Rest assured, there are many video tutorials included in the course; you just need to finish each module to unlock the next one.

I'm having issues trying to download my digital products

If you're experiencing issues downloading the digital products, please first check that your device has enough storage space, as some files may be quite large. We also recommend clearing your cache before attempting the download again. If these steps don’t resolve the issue and the download button still isn’t working, feel free to contact our customer support team. They will be happy to email you a copy of all the products included in your order.

4o

I used an incorrect email address, how can I fix this?

If you realize that you used an incorrect email address during checkout, unfortunately, your course enrollment will be linked to that email. To resolve this, simply contact our customer support team and provide the incorrect email address, the correct email address you'd like to use, your full name, and your date of purchase or order number if available. Our support team will update your enrollment details and send you a new sign-in link.

I never received any emails with my products?

We apologize for any trouble you're having with receiving your login details. Since our login emails may come from different addresses, please try searching your inbox and spam folder for the keyword "Thinkific." If you're still having issues, you can quickly reach out to our customer support team. Simply provide your order number, full name, and the email address you used to sign up. We’ll confirm the email linked to your enrollment and send you a screenshot, so you can use the correct email and the sign-in link.

I recieved my digital downloads but not my enrolment email?

If you've received your digital downloads but not your enrollment email, this likely means your email address is correct. However, it’s possible that the course enrollment email was marked as spam. We recommend searching your inbox for the word "Thinkific" to see if the welcome email is hidden in your spam or junk folder. Please note that the digital downloads come from a different email address than the course enrollment email, so they might be in separate folders.

If you're still unable to locate the email after searching, please reach out to our customer support team. They will be happy to provide a new sign-in URL and double-check for any spelling errors or issues that might have occurred during your course purchase.

I have just purchased a course but want to upgrade to another course is this possible?

That's perfectly fine! We understand your eagerness to learn and your enthusiasm when accessing the course. Some of our courses, such as the Brow Mapping course, are included in our Brow Lamination, Celeb Brow, and Bundle courses.

If you've purchased a course, like the Brow Mapping course, and would like to upgrade to one of our more comprehensive options, simply reach out to our customer support team. We'll be happy to create a discount code reflecting the amount you've already paid, allowing you to upgrade to a more detailed course, even with our no-refund policy in place.

Can I reset the password on my account?

If you have forgotten your password to log into your account, we recommend contacting our customer support team as soon as possible. While we cannot recover passwords for security reasons, we can reset your account and create a custom password for you. Once you access your account, you'll have the ability to reset it yourself.

The name on my certificate is incorrect can you change it?

Absolutely, we can reset the name on your certificate. Please email our customer support team with the following information:

The full name currently on the certificate

The email address you used to log into the course platform

The new name you would like on the certificate

Once we have this information, we’ll generate a new certificate for you and provide a download link.

Can my password or log in email be changed?

Yes, we can update your login email address, but we can't recover passwords for security reasons, as they protect your account. If you need to reset your account, please contact our customer support team. They can send you a new sign-in link and reset your account, allowing you to set a new password.

I finished my course where do I print my certificate?

To print and receive your certificate, you must complete all course modules to 100%. Once you've reached full completion on every module, you’ll see the course marked as "Complete," and your certificate will be automatically generated for download. If you don't see the option to access your certificate, it likely means that a module hasn't been fully completed. We recommend reviewing the course to ensure that each module is at 100% and that nothing has been skipped. Once everything is fully completed, you’ll be able to download and print your certificate.

Information Regarding Brow Services

Brow Services in the USA

Important Information on Brow Services in the USA

If you’re planning to offer brow services in the USA, it's important to know that the requirements can vary quite a bit from state to state. Here’s a quick overview of what to consider:

Licensing Requirements

Most states require a professional license to do brow services like waxing, tinting, threading, or microblading.

You might need an esthetician license, a cosmetology license, or even a tattoo license if you offer permanent makeup.

Each state has different rules, so make sure you look up what’s needed where you plan to work.

Training and Education

Most states require you to complete a training program at a recognized beauty school.

If you’re doing microblading or similar services, you’ll likely need extra training and a specific certification.

Some states also require you to take continuing education courses to keep your license up-to-date.

Sanitation and Safety

You’ll need to follow strict guidelines for cleanliness, equipment sterilization, and safety to keep your clients safe.

For services involving the skin (like microblading), you might need to take a course on bloodborne pathogens.

Insurance

While not always required, we highly recommend getting liability insurance to protect yourself in case anything goes wrong during a service.

Local Permits and Business License

You may also need a local business license or specific permits, depending on where your salon is located.

Disclaimer

We’re a brow company based in the UK, and this information is provided as general public knowledge only. We're not legally allowed to give specific advice regarding the requirements in the USA. We strongly recommend that you do your own research and check with your state’s licensing board or health department to make sure you follow the correct guidelines for your area.

Brow Services in the UK

Important Information on Brow Services in the UK

If you're planning to offer brow services in the UK, there are some important rules and guidelines to consider. Here's a basic rundown:

Training and Qualifications

Currently, in the UK, working from home or mobile requires obtaining diploma certificates for your specified treatments to secure the necessary insurance. If you plan to pursue a career in the industry or open your salon, achieving a Level 2 qualification in beauty is advised.

For more advanced treatments like microblading or semi-permanent makeup, having a recognized qualification is essential to get insured and comply with local authority requirements.

Look for accredited training programs that are recognized by industry bodies like VTCT, ABT, or other beauty certification organizations.

Licensing and Local Authority Requirements

Special Treatments License: Some local councils in the UK may require a special treatments license for brow services, especially for microblading or semi-permanent makeup. This license ensures that you're following health and safety standards.

Licensing rules can vary depending on where you operate, so it's important to check with your local council to see what they require.

Health and Safety Standards

It's crucial to follow strict hygiene and safety practices, including sterilizing tools and keeping a clean environment to prevent infections.

For treatments like microblading, you may need to complete a bloodborne pathogens course to ensure you handle any risks properly.

Insurance

Professional liability insurance (also known as treatment risk insurance) is strongly recommended to cover you if a client has a negative reaction to a treatment.

Public liability insurance is also a good idea in case of accidents or damage at your salon.

Patch Testing

For services that involve dyes or chemicals, such as tinting or brow lamination, a patch test is usually required at least 24-48 hours before treatment to check for allergic reactions.

Always follow the manufacturer’s instructions for patch testing to ensure your clients’ safety.

Age Restrictions

Many brow treatments have age restrictions, often requiring clients to be at least 16 years old. Always check the specific regulations for each service.

Disclaimer

This information is provided as general public knowledge only, and we're not legally permitted to give specific advice regarding regulations in the UK. We recommend that you do your own research and check with your local council and relevant industry bodies to make sure you're following the correct guidelines for your area.

Brow Services in Canada

Important Information on Brow Services in Canada

If you’re looking to provide brow services in Canada, there are specific guidelines and regulations to keep in mind. Here’s a quick summary:

Training and Certification

While not always legally required, most brow professionals complete training courses for services like waxing, threading, tinting, or microblading.

For microblading and other advanced techniques, you typically need to obtain a certification from a recognized training program.

Look for programs accredited by industry organizations to ensure you receive quality training.

Licensing Requirements

Licensing for brow services varies by province and municipality. Many provinces require estheticians or beauty professionals to have a license to practice.

In some areas, you may need a specific license for microblading or other specialized services. Check your local regulations to determine what’s needed in your area.

Health and Safety Regulations

You must adhere to strict health and safety standards, including proper sanitation of tools and equipment to prevent infections.

Some provinces may require you to take a bloodborne pathogens training course, especially if you’re performing services that break the skin, like microblading.

Insurance

Professional liability insurance is highly recommended to protect yourself in case of adverse reactions or other issues during a treatment.

General business insurance is also a good idea for coverage against accidents or damage at your establishment.

Patch Testing

For services that involve dyes or chemicals, such as brow tinting or lamination, conducting a patch test is important. This helps to check for potential allergic reactions.

Always follow manufacturer guidelines for conducting patch tests to ensure client safety.

Age Restrictions

Many provinces have age restrictions for certain brow services, often requiring clients to be at least 16 years old. Always confirm the specific rules for each treatment in your region.

Disclaimer

This information is provided as general public knowledge only, and we are not legally permitted to give specific advice regarding regulations in Canada. We recommend that you do your own research and consult your provincial or territorial regulatory body, as well as local authorities, to ensure you are following the correct guidelines for your area.

Getting insurance

Requirements to Get Insured

The specific requirements for obtaining insurance will vary depending on the insurer and your location, but here are some common steps and considerations:

Licensing Verification:

Insurers typically require proof that you hold the appropriate licenses for the services you provide (e.g., esthetician, cosmetologist, or specialized training).

Training and Certification:

You may need to provide documentation of your training and certification in specific brow services

Business Structure:

If you operate as a sole proprietor, LLC, or corporation, you’ll need to disclose this information, as it can affect your coverage and premiums.

Experience and History:

Insurers may consider your experience level, including how long you have been practicing and your claims history. Newer professionals may face higher premiums initially.

Coverage Needs:

Determine what type of coverage you need based on the services you offer. You might need a combination of general liability insurance, professional liability insurance, and potentially other specialized coverage depending on the treatments provided.

Business Location:

The location of your business can influence your insurance costs. Areas with higher risks or crime rates may result in higher premiums.

Insurance Provider Selection:

Research and compare different insurance providers that specialize in beauty and wellness coverage. Look for reviews and recommendations to find a reputable insurer.

Policy Limits:

Decide on the policy limits you require, which is the maximum amount your insurer will pay for a claim. Higher coverage limits typically come with higher premiums.

Steps to Obtain Insurance

Gather Necessary Documents: Collect your licenses, training certificates, and information about your business structure and services.

Research Providers: Look for insurance companies that specialize in beauty and wellness insurance.

Request Quotes: Contact multiple providers to get quotes based on your needs. Make sure to ask about specific coverage options for brow services.

Review Policies: Carefully read the terms and conditions of each policy, paying attention to exclusions and limitations.

Make a Decision: Choose the policy that best fits your needs and budget.

Maintain Your Coverage: After obtaining insurance, make sure to keep your policy up-to-date and renew it as required.

Conclusion

Getting insured for brow services is an essential step in protecting your business and clients. By following the requirements and steps outlined above, you can ensure that you have the appropriate coverage to operate safely and confidently. Always remember to check specific state regulations and consult with an insurance professional if you have questions about your coverage needs.

Why Insurance is Important

Protection Against Liability:

Professional Liability Insurance (also known as malpractice insurance) protects you if a client claims injury or dissatisfaction with your service. For example, if a client has an allergic reaction to a product used during a brow service, insurance can cover legal fees and settlements.

Client Trust and Credibility:

Having insurance can enhance your professionalism. Clients are more likely to trust and choose a business that has liability insurance, as it demonstrates a commitment to safety and responsibility.

Coverage for Property Damage:

General liability insurance can cover damage to your business property or accidents that occur on-site. This is crucial for protecting your assets and ensuring business continuity.

Compliance with Legal Requirements:

Some states or local jurisdictions may require certain types of insurance for beauty professionals, particularly if you are operating a business with employees.

Peace of Mind:

Knowing that you have coverage in place can help you focus on providing great services without the constant worry about potential legal claims or accidents.
